Featuring the active ingredient ethephon, Motivate promotes earlier fruit coloration and maturity in a wide variety of crops, including apples, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupes, cherries, grapes, peppers, pineapple, sugarcane, tobacco and tomatoes. It also aids in barrenberry control in blueberries and loosens apples, blackberries, cherries and walnuts for earlier, more efficient harvest.

When applied as directed to cantaloupes, Motivate promotes fruit abscission (slipping). In the Pacific Northwest, it can also be used to increase dormant fruit bud hardiness and delayed spring bloom in sweet cherries. And in wheat and barley, Motivate shortens and strengthens stalks to reduce costly lodging.
